Own. Work. Live.

Your space should come with real choices.

Where your data lives. Who can read it. How you recover access. OWL explains those choices so you can decide what works for you.

Choose how your content is protected.
With client-side decryption and provider-held recovery disabled, encrypted file and chat content is readable by authorized recipients; the server receives no usable content key. Server-side decryption or provider-held recovery changes that access. Account and sharing metadata remains visible.

Make AI use a deliberate choice.
When you send content to an external AI model, that provider processes it under its own retention and training terms. Encryption of your stored files does not extend to that submitted copy.

Make OWL part of your day

Start free. Grow at your pace.

Begin with a real account and a useful first task. Add storage when you need it, or explore running your own server.

Let us host it.

The simplest way to begin: create your account on NDEVR and open OWL in your browser.

  • A free tier to start using OWL

Bring OWL to your own hardware, whether you are building a home setup or a workspace for your organization.

  • Control where your server runs
  • Manage your users and storage
  • Plan your own updates and backups

Beyond the workspace · NDEVR

Engineering that reaches the real world.

NDEVR builds software for surveying, mapping and mining. From underground scans to complex 3D models, that engineering experience also shapes OWL.

Our field products and custom development work continue alongside it.

Before you begin

A few practical questions.

Can I explore OWL without an account?

Yes. The demo opens OWL with sample files and a sample workspace. Use it to explore before creating your own account. Demo content is separate from your real account.

Do I need to move everything at once?

No. Start by uploading copies of a few files or trying one project. Keep your existing tools while you decide which parts of OWL fit your day.

Does OWL replace my existing office tools?

OWL includes document, spreadsheet and presentation tools. Try copies of your own files to check formatting and the features your workflow needs before switching. Explore the tools and samples.

What does self-hosting involve?

You install and operate OWL Server on your own hardware. That includes maintaining the server, managing access and arranging backups. Read about OWL Server.

What does beta mean for everyday use?

Features are evolving and you may encounter rough edges. Keep backups, test the workflows you rely on, and tell us about problems or missing features.
